What is SE?

SE is used when a consumer requires one-on-one assistance from a job coach to learn job duties and other routines, assist with job adjustments, and implement interventions to overcome barriers in order to meet job requirements. SE is intended for consumers who are projected to require intensive job coaching for an extended period of time, possibly for the duration that the individual holds the position. SE often leads to “Long-Term Follow-Along” (LTFA) services, which provide ongoing follow-up to help ensure that the individual retains their job. For more information, refer to the SE and Specialized Services Manual here.

SE Includes

Pre-Employment Transition Services elkgibilityWhat is pre empl x

Pre-ETS are a coordinated set of activities, designed with an outcome-oriented process, which promotes movement from school to post-school activities organized in collaboration with local school staff. They are available to enhance and support secondary education transition planning, not replace or supplant transition requirements.  Pre-ETS are intended to work toward alignment of the student’s IEP and/or High School and Beyond Plan goals and are coordinated activities that are based upon the individual student’s needs, taking into account the student’s skills, abilities, preferences, and interests and must be provided on the basis of individual need.

The five required pre-employment transition services are not mandated to be provided to each student with a disability if all the activities are not necessary and are services that support the student’s informed choice for participation.
